I've pushed some stuff off too long. I'm going to list it here for some sort of accountability.
  • schedule my next physical (it's not overdue yet, but they schedule pretty far out)
  • schedule a dental cleaning. I am torn; I like my dentist but hate his office. I guess it's time for me to switch to Dr. Rosie.
  • schedule a flu shot. (thanks for the " ( Read more... )

My experience is that you can walk into a Walgreen's (or likely a CVS) with your insurance information and get a flu shot at no cost and with no appointment. There's also a nasal mist option, which might be worth researching ahead of time.

thank you for posting this - you reminded me that i need to do most of these too.
including try dr. rosie, schedule my physical, get physical/active, pap, etc.
i'm pondering a daily walk - would you like to do that together once a week?

Daily habits, woo! Physical/habit challenges, woo! If you need a cheering section or whatever for either of those, I'm here for ya. :-)

I had a similar experience as ghudson with a flu shot at a random clinic last year so yeah, I think it really is just strangely easy.

I am reluctant to reward the pharmacies for grabbing and monetizing flu vaccine; I would rather get it from my doctor's office's flu clinic, but they are terrible about advertising it.

Aren't the pharmacies reimbursed the cost by insurance companies the same way your doctor's flu clinic is?

Oh, darn. I'm not a student this semester so I don't get the easy out of the super duper efficient MIT-provided flu shot clinics.

I need a dentist, are you referring to Smiles by Rosie? I had a great dentist in WI after a few years of shuffling around, so I've been apprehensive about finding one here.

My friends and I have found HabitRPG to be effective for habit-forming because apparently we are super motivated by status bars and leveling up and gaining gold. And acquiring pets.
