Stuff out

Feb 09, 2012 21:27

Ok, in order to get on top of things I need to get more stuff out of the house.

My goal for the foreseeable future is to get one grocery-bag-size of stuff out of the house every day.

(Today it was a zebra and a hippo. Not every day will be that easy.)
Friday - Just compost (but that still counts!)
Saturday - Big box of handmedowns

Your household goes through a lot of groceries, if a zebra and a hippo constitute one bag worth.

If you get down to "the books all fit on the available shelves", I'll fit them there for you!

If you add only one more step that becomes really easy.

Day 1: fill bag of stuff. place on porch.

Day 2: bring bag bag in. pause. place on porch.

repeat.

Excellent goal and good start!

Last year I tried something similar except it started as just a "remove or use up 1 container older than 3 months from the kitchen every day". It then changed to "get rid of one thing from the *house* every day." I kept a log which was key for keeping up the motivation. I wanted to see each day have its little slot filled in with what I got rid of.

For you, with a whole grocery bag per day, it'll be great fun to look back and see all the *stuff* you got rid of.

Good luck!
