It's an upcoming film by director Guillermo del Toro who's work I loved in "The Devil's Backbone", but who is probably better known for having directed the recent Hellboy movie. They promo'ed and extended trailer (along with a special encouragement by the director to go to Powell's Books) at the H.P.Lovecraft Film Festival that I was at in Portland this last weekend, and it was exquisite.
The film is due out here in December I believe, and I fully intend to catch it early and often. It focuses on a young girl who comes to Spain during the rise of Facism that surrounds WWII, and comes to grips with the changes in the real world by delving deeply into a fantasy world. Dark fairytale material at it's finest.

I know its a dark faerytale.
I know Neil Gaiman went to see a preview of it and said its not really a movie for children though it centers around a child.
And I don't know that that helps. :)
