Big Weekendery and falling back in love.

Ahoy there, I'm new to this community. So I don't know if this is the type of post that you'll all be cool with here because it's not news or a review or anything, but most of what I saw clicking through the pages was people after concert tickets or offering concert tickets, so I haven't really gotten the best idea of what else it's for, to be ( Read more... )

I'm not a big one for hysterical sobbing either but I broke down for the first time at a show when I saw them a few weeks ago in Boston. They got through their whole set and Gerard came out and sang Cancer for the encore, and I just started bawling. I've had two people in my life battle cancer since Parade came out so it was kind of hard to hear it live. This girl standing in front of me at the barricade was recording the song on her camera but when she heard me crying she just turned around and hugged me, I have no clue who she was. To me, that is one of the best things about My Chemical Romance: the fans are really supportive of each other, everyone (for the most part) is really understanding and welcoming and warm.

Awwwwww that is really sweet. That is one of the other things I also always liked about MCR. The fans are awesome.

Thank you for posting, it is really nice to see a post NOT about tickets (or shows that I am not going to see :)) )

I had a similar experience this year, when I first saw them live. They've been gone so long and changed so much. And despite all that, I saw them that night and I knew I was still in love with them. Now if only they had played Famous Last Words...

I am sorry about your experience in Bali

I honestly think it's great that they've managed to change that much and keep some (though definitely not all) of their fans. I don't think it would have worked if it hadn't taken them such a long time to get the new album out though. If that makes sense.

Aaaand the Bali thing was terrible, but no need to apologise! You didn't do it! :)
I pretty much took myself out of it anyway, with the whole hiding-and-watching-MTV thing.

It's great that you got to see Bulletproof Heart. Song changes lives, I swear.

PS: I agree with all the tickets post. This LJ community is terrible now.

I have to admit, it wasn't one of the first ones that really struck me when I started listening to the album. Took a few more listens. It's great, though.

There really is a lot of ticket posts. They're useful and probably helpful sometimes, but wow. A lot.

Yeah I feel like there should be (and probably is) a separate community just for that.

When I first listened to BPH, it was very different and it was one of the few songs that I had no idea what to expect since most of the others had already been released or played live. The piano intro is very supernatural and then BAM! That guitar riff hits you. It's got a super powerful chorus that I think absolutely slaughters. And the line "Tell the truth and God will save you" right before said chorus kicks in gives me chills up my spine every time.

Hi! I'm glad you posted this - it's always nice to hear from other fans. :D

Ahaha, I've only cried once during a public concert thingy but I definitely felt the way you did when you watched MCR. I'm glad you became a fan again. :D
