i went to my first japanese class last night. pops went last week when the class actually started and i think he expected to be able to teach me what i missed, but i ended up helping him with his grammar and pronounciation. he's such a perfectionist, but because of the week he's had (grandpa's brain surgery is today and grandma was recently put ( Read more... )

i wanted to be a cheeky, annoying student and call out "shingo mama!" but that probably wouldn't have gone over too well. XD

there's ALWAYS 'that kind' of student. D: like crazy inuyasha girl, WHO APPARENTLY LIED AND IS A FAN OF ARASHI AND JOHNNY'S. and ueda. she loves ueda. D: D:

and omg what is with teacher's directly and inadvertently alluding to SMAP? D: my teacher apparently played an episode of smap x smap to make us learn idioms when i was absent.

i'd be okay if it was just one person, but there seems to be THREE. D: AND HOW DID YOU FIND OUT SHE LIKES JOHNNYS? did you hear her ridiculously loud music and recognize the song? did she have an "i ♥ ueda" shirt on? i love him too, but ueda fans seem to be a special brand of crazy.

SMAP IS EVERYWHERE. i was reading johnny cupcakes' blog and he posted a picture of shingo as dole man. it was surreal.

it's okay, back when it was session 1, there were like, 4 in my class. now it's just crazy inuyasha girl. AND OMG NO. well. the story's a little embarrassing, but i've basically become the class broken record because any time my teacher asks me what i want to do, what i'm doing, what i like, it's either music related (ie: "i wanna karaoke!" "oh, i karaoke'd this weekend." "i listened to music." etc etc) or it's that i'm tired and i want to sleep. but wednesday, he asked me who my favorite singers/artists were, and i was like, "uh, arashi -- " and CIG went, "REALLY?! ME TOO!" completely barring the fact that she claimed it was too pop for her a few weeks ago? idek. and i don't even think she's that big of a fan of ueda, because she didn't even know about konkatsu. fail.

omg what. DAMNIT SMAP. though it's kind of amazing that they have such longevity that everyone's all, "SMAP!"

Oh gods, every class has at least one of those students. XD; There was one guy in my Japanese class in college who used to drive me CRAZY because he'd ask all the bizarre, rude questions of the teacher and it was like "WTF?".

... there was also a frat guy taking the class just so he could bang Japanese girls. It was so gross. D:

it does seem to be that way, doesn't it? i don't remember any ridiculous people in my spanish or french classes, but i really don't want to believe it's just japanese classes...

omg who actually ADMITS to that? D:

it seems to be every japanese class, so i'm sure you'll have at least one. but lol i don't know why you'd be HAPPY to have that kind of student. i hate when people feel the need to prove to complete strangers how awesome and unique they are, you know? :/

I studied English, Swedish, German, Spanish and French in high school. I actually wonder if I was on some special kind of crack back then, because wth, THAT WAS CRAZY. (And I'm only fluent in the first two these days, anyway.)

Which is just to say that I miss studying (new) languages. And Japanese is so endlessly fascinating. ♥

WOAH. that's pretty fantastic, even if you're only fluent in two of them anymore. i can carry on basic spanish conversations and i'll probably be okay in japanese. but complete fluency in more than your native language must be awesome!

it is really fascinating! i'm enjoying the artistic aspect of writing all of the characters, personally. it's a lot of fun!
