Completely Dispicable - Issues with animal control services in Durham Region

Today on my way home from paying my tuition mum and I saw a rather unusual sight on the side of the road, 4 baby raccoons with no mother in sight. So we pulled into the nearest vet and had them call animal control services and then went to protect the little things with my mothers car (yea blocked off part of a ending lane with the 4-way flashers

I hope they'll be alright. I have to go back to that IGA plaza in a few hours, and I really don't want to see them on the road :/

I find it odd how Animal Services couldn't do anything. You think they would be able to move them farther away or something, or at least take them to a safe place and care for them until they are old enough to be released.
