Part of Michelle is still at Milliways. The coziness of their apartment there, the warmth of friends, the easy laughter, all those are things she misses here.

She lifts her free hand to pet Mason. "Nice try, Tony."

Tony, who's shoving a box against the wall, chuckles. "I don't have control over that dog, baby. You know that."

She turns around quickly, expecting to see Tony behind her, and is barely able to catch Mason before he falls off her shoulder.

"He's not that much of a jumper, are you Mason?" She gives the dog a serious look, but it's tempered by her smile.
