Any professional breeders out there?

So my mom got a new dog (well her 1st dog). He is a little yorkie terrier tea cup. She paid $1000 for him but didn't get any papers with him nor did he have his shots. He's 4 months old and cute as a button which is why she named him Buttons.

my mom breeds yorkies and yes, for that price should be akc registered with papers

I was affraid of that. She said she might breed him once so I could get a puppy, but I guess she can't prove anything without papers. Is there a way she can get them?

you'd have to know the parent's names of the dogs and owner to ask akc for a copy but you know, I'm always against anyone breeding until the 10,000 homeless pets that are put to sleep monthly have homes.... :(

But yeah, you can lie, say you're the owner and tell em you need a copy of the papers cause you lost yours, or you need to register the dog and provide the parents lineage of both parents. Best to ask the breeder because it may not even be possible. Could very well be a purebred but not papered parents and in that case, no go and no reason to breed it. You'd never get more than $250 for an unpapered one. Your mom waaaay overpaid.

god that sucks. Yeah I figured she did, but she loves him and doesn't really wanna breed him anyways. I agree about adopting one that's homeless, I just don't know of any teacups that are homeless that don't come from breeders. She is going to get him fixed soon, so I guess breeding is out of the question anyways. She said the breeder won't register him, but she doesn't know why.

oh well, she is happy and he's a good puppy so that is all that matters.

thanks for your help hun, good luck with the shoot out I wish i was going, i really need to get away from my life for a little bit, but it's going to have to wait til i have money. My car is awesome, so I guess it's worth it. :)
