The "One Different Letter" game is BACK!
For those of you who missed this post, I've revived the "One Different Letter" game I used to play in this journal. I got six worthy entries from you guys, and just to stretch my word muscles I decided to do them all!
First up was dazzle, submitted by long-time O.D.L. player and Aussie funnyman the_zaniak.
The new word is... Dazzie n. The popular name for the annual awards bestowed by the Las Vegas Costumer's Association. Categories include Tallest Headdress, Best Bodice That Almost But Not Quite Shows Nipple, and the Rip Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award for Innovations in Glitter Application.
Next we have abject, submitted by widespread object of Doper desire, voguevixen.
The new word is... cabject adj. The forlorn state of mind caused by being unable to flag down a taxi.
Then, it's deliver, submitted by Scrabble asskicker blanx73.
The new word is... delover v. To rid onesself or another person of an unwanted sexual partner.
I'm just getting warmed up! (obviously.) Now we have proactive, submitted by the talented and rather foxy biquet.
The new word is... Preactive adj. Euphemistic term for "lazy."
Up next is consensus, submitted by long-time, hopelessly devoted Scandalista eleika.
The new word is... consenses n. Heightened sensory perceptions a person develops while attending a convention, e.g., taste (enhanced Pocky discrimination), sight (enhanced ability to spot booth bunnies and girls in slutty costumes), touch (especially for those involved in the The Open-Source Boob Project), and smell (if you've been to a con you need no explanation).
(By the way, eleika typoed her submission, thus inadvertently playing O.D.L. herself. I took the liberty of supplying the definition: concensus n. A study of the demographic makeup of a prison.)
Last but not least, we have integral, submitted by my secret crush (whoops), teal_cuttlefish.
The new word is... sintegral adj. Critical to the success of behaviors disapproved of by the Church.
