I was supposed to go with Andy to Star Trek last night...but at around 5, just as I was getting ready to go on my last tram of the day, I was swamped with an out-of-nowhere bout of nausea and dizziness. My ears were ringing, my knees went out from under me, and I broke out into a cold, clammy sweat

Hope you're feeling better. Sounds like something metabolic more than flu, though, unless there were other symptoms.

I am. I'm pretty convinced that it was food poisoning, and my bod just set its metaphorical heels in and pushed back.

The one time I had similar symptoms to what you describe, I believe it was also food poisoning. It's the only time in my life that I've come close to fainting.
