HOT DAMN, 200 wpm is fast. I took the test and did 88 wpm (one try), but I'm not sure how accurate it is, because it doesn't take into account accuracy. I've taken a few typing tests for job applications (most secretarial-type jobs like you to be able to type at least 40 wpm), and I consistently score about 70 wpm (they usually involve spending a few minutes retyping as much of a given document as possible). I know my mother used to be able to do 120, but can't anymore. I wonder how long it takes to work up to 200 wpm. I would love to see that.
Recently I tested myself on Mavis Beacon and I could only hit 75 wpm on actual sentences which is a more accurate measure, so we're still about the same. :) Wow, 120, your mother is awesome! I couldn't reach 120 in my super fast high school days.
I got 140, but I'm not sure I could keep up that speed for long enough to actually do a court reporter job. 200 may require some sort of shorthand combined with fast typing skills.
Looks like you hold the Cheesemon f-list typing record. Congrats. :)
I think my successor could type near 200, I've seen her just maddeningly mashing away at the keyboard, yet perfect sentences were popping up on the screen.
The world record holder used a dvorak keyboard which apparently can make you type faster, though I'm not sure how.
