Wikipedia is a good source of up-to-date, immediate information . . sometimes. Its advantage and disadvantage is that it's open to everyone to edit, and not everyone knows how to write an encyclopedia article. It's a game show that was really popular over here during the 80s. They started off showing clips of it on "Tarrant on TV" and eventually it got given its own English language commentary like "Takeshi's Castle". The basic premise is a number of contestents having to endure crazy shit...like having live scorpions poured over them and staying there in a confined perspex box for a set time etc. The kind of shit that leaves mental scars.

One of the things it inspired over here was an English show called "Banzai" which was a kind of piss take of the 'genre' if you can call it that.

Man, Hibiki's ending had Faiz written all over it. They introduce a twist and a new villain with 5 minutes to spare and never resolve it. >_< I'm done with Kamen Rider until all the Faiz writers have retired.
