Yesterday, I received a letter from Simon Fraser University informing me that I had been accepted to its teaching programme! I couldn't have been . . unhappier? Perhaps it was because I was only given one day to respond to a decision of epic proportions. Perhaps it was because the committee still insists that I can only teach high school English

I didn't know you were a writer! You'll have to share some of your works with us.

I should start working on my original story sometime.

That exclamation mark makes me think you think I'm more than an unpublished writer, but sadly, I'm not. ;) And I haven't written much lately due to my irksome laptop . . and what I used to write in the past when I was in high school was really immature. Like evil sumo wrestlers and tons of bathroom humor. Hm, maybe I could write Shrek 4 . .

About the HP books, not necessarily. I have a friend who's read every single one, really likes them, but doesn't own any of them because she gets them from the library. I imagine those books were intended for children who can't afford to buy copies of their own, or had hand-me-down ones. That prize makes perfect sense to me. :P

Smart friend, I have most of the books and only read them once or less. :P

I failed to mention that the prize also comes with some plaque signed by Rowlings which is apparently worth a ton of money, so people who own the books will still enter anyway. I think the plaque alone would've been a good enough prize but oh well. I think I'm just bitter that I forgot to enter. :P
