yesterday exceeded all expectations. i got some work done, cleared my desk a little. tj came down for lunch and i spent my gift card from sur la table. finally got my madeleine pan, and a bunch of other stuff. i guessed the card (a thank you from h.r.) to be $20, but it was $50! i still spent more than the card, but it was lovley.

I used to get into the argument often about "what is art". I would ask "Name a significant, or even famous (not the same thing) artist whose media is primarily a computer"
The answer would invariably be "Trent Reznor, and "the guys from Industrial Light and Magic".
This was never a really good answer for me- because 1. Trent is not primarily a computer artist, and 2. "the guys from ILM", while masterful draftsmen and capable of achieving incredible levels of aesthetics with their CGI- they are not doing the one thing that, to me- is art ( ... )

re: Art. For me, anything created that engages my senses and or/ moves my emotions. Music, film, food, sculpture, painting, a performance piece. My opinion may not count for much though- I've been watching "Laser Fart" on YouTube for the past three days and it's making me die of laughter. Highbrow, that's me. :)
