To say it had been a roller coaster of a week would be an understatement. At least her captain had been cleared of anything that might have stuck on him, and Rangiku was happy beyond bounds to have him back. Strange, it would seem, since more often than not one could walk upon the two of them arguing over something, but Rangiku liked that arguing, even though it might drive her captain up the wall and wishing that he could trade her in for a better model. Regardless, he was back, and doing his own reports, and Rangiku was once more drinking at her normal rate. There was no more sitting in the office alone sighing as she did her mundane reports, for things had finally started to return to normal. He’d have found the office more or less in the shape he had left it, for Rangiku, while more than a little sloppy, had kept guard of it for she knew that he would return, even if she had to kick someone’s ass to do so ( ... )

Hearing that soft shuffle behind the door caused Shuuhei's heart to jump into his throat. She had not even opened the door and he all ready had butterflies; definitely not a good sign. Shuuhei was never one stuck in gender roles, but he was rather traditional when it came to taking a woman out. He felt it was his job to show her a good time, treat her like a princess, and to do that he needed to be cool and confident. Not at all like the little boy he felt like right then when the door seemed to open in slow motion. Slow, slow motion that was revealing everything he had been waiting for.

The urge to run and hide was there again, but instead Shuuhei stood firm as Rangiku revealed herself in full, Living World glory. It was not anything fancy -- he did not specify it to be -- but because Rangiku was wearing it, he thought it was amazing. She never wore clothes, they were lucky to have her in them; that was the way he saw it. Shuuhei could not help his face as it broke into one of his wide, cheesy grins that he was so infamous for. He kind of had that look like a deer caught in two headlights, unsure if the car would swerve and miss it, or if it should just not tempt fate and bolt for it right away. Yet, whatever it was that he was thinking, soon brought that trade mark look to him, for no matter how many years ago it was that she had first noticed that about it, it still remained. Maybe for that reason alone, her shoulders lost some of their tension and she took a soft breath inwards ( ... )

He was grateful when she finally took them off his hands, more worried that he would warm them somehow with his frantic thoughts. Shuuhei sincerely hoped he did not appear as nervous as he felt, though the way his hands had to tap at the belt loops of his jeans showed that he was definitely fidgety. But allowing him to enter her realm of existence was a step he had not even imagined he would take. No, Shuuhei had walked her to her room before and stopped by to drop off papers or pick her up for another drinking party, but he had never been inside. Part of him was like a giddy schoolboy as he tentatively stepped inside, eyes immediately going about the room ( ... )

She fiddled with the flowers for a moment, moving them one way, and the other, until she was seemingly happy with the way that they looked. While she might not be the expect that Unohana Retsu was when it came to flower arranging, she did have a bit of talent in that regard. Her fingers lingered over the petal of a rose for a moment, feeling the soft texture that reminded her of silk. His voice though caused her once more to focus her attention on him, though only for a moment as her eyes drifted across the room. Some might find it cluttered, for nothing was in what would call a usual place, but that didn't matter to Rangiku, for she knew where things were, such as her bracelet that she only wore on few occasion was under the pink shirt, and the matching shoe to the solitary black stiletto was under the futon. While she did lose things from time to time as any normal person did, there was organization to her chaos. With an amused noise, she arched an eyebrow. "It should~ It is my room and I did decorate it ( ... )
