Characters: Kuna Mashiro and Hisagi Shuuhei When: December 27th, evening Where: 9th Division public kitchen Rating: G? Summary: Shuu wants to make Mashiro feel better after her tests so he offers to cook her dinner?
Shuuhei could have learned a whole lot from Mashiro if they hung out enough. A lot of people could learn a thing or two from her if they tried. She was really a smart cookie--it was just a whole lot easier to be dumb. Mashiro had been at the division with Kensei since two, though she left for a little while to go wash up. It had been an extremely long day, what with her having to get up and go over to the Twelfth. That, over all, had been her own nightmare.
She hated seeing the doctor. It was just a phobia she had all her life, no matter how nice someone was. Unohana was a little freaky, but she was sure not everyone else was. But the scientific division was not about being nice, nor were they doctors. They were creatures who went about cutting things and testing things and. . .there was a lot of buh. Mashiro got chills just thinking about it. She was glad to be talking about what she was and such; even more glad that Shuuhei was making her food. Food was the way to her heart, personally, so he was in before she even got to eat

He was plating the gyoza that had just finished steaming in boiling water out on a plate when there was a knock at the door. Shuuhei glanced over his shoulder, hearing Mashiro's high-pitched voice barely over the sound of things bubbling and cooking. The rice cooker just started screaming as he turned the right burner off, muttering something to it to be quiet as he turned the timer off and left it on standby.
Placing the gyoza on the table, Shuuhei shuffled over, wearing a dark apron over his shihakushou, something he didn't usually wear on his time off, but had put on to be more presentable when Kensei made his speech. He dusted his hands off on the apron, reaching over to open the door.
"Kuna-san," he said as he opened the door, smiling at her. "Come on in. How did it go?" he asked, moving out of the way to let her into the kitchen.
The first thing Mashiro saw when the door was opened as Shuuhei's apron. She forgot how tall he was. He was a little shorter than Kensei, and actually pretty damn handsome. But at the first look in to the room she only saw his upper ab area. He was pretty slender, too, but not in a bad way. This was a good way. Well, she was impressed. Time to go home. Oh, wait, the smell that had burst from the kitchen had overwhelmed her. Looking up at Shuuhei's face, she barely noticed his tattoo. Her eyes were glittering with excitement and joy as her nose easily picked up every different food he had made

He could only imagine what the tests were like based on Kensei's post on the Kounisshimou, but part of him really did not want to imagine. At least for those two it was over as far as Shuuhei knew. He couldn't imagine what kind of things Mayuri would want to do, but hopefully something held that back. At least she was in one whole piece, that had to say something, right?
"I'm sorry," he said, not sure he wanted any of the gruesome details. Mayuri was as sick fuck, and Shuuhei tried to avoid him at all costs. (Those his ability to change one's Zanpakutou's gender was certainly intriguing...)
"Ah, yes, I did." The dark-haired man shut the door behind them, moving over to check on the noodles he had cooking. "I think I got most of the things on your list, so I hope you're hungry," he said with a smirk. He hoped he wasn't over doing it.
Bringing her hands out in front of her in a quick motion, a flick of her wrists, Mashiro relieved her sleeves of their length. They were the normal size sleeve, but she liked to keep her arms inside for whatever reason. Just an odd habit of liking to cover her skin when she had the chance, perhaps. Though now that they were free it was easy to see her small hands and slender fingers, the tiny arms attached. She only looked frail, however, as Izuru had seen that morning at the demonstration.
"Well, it wasn't that bad," she said. "But I didn't like it." Mashiro didn't like a lot of things, though she was quickly warming up to Shuuhei.
Crossing through the kitchen she looked at all of the foods like a prowling animal before stopping at the last dish of all of them. "I'm starved!" she replied excitedly. "Where do we start?" She was glowing with joy at seeing all of these meals. Wait until he watched her put it away. Half and hour to 45-minutes flat. Done.
