The knock on the door prompted Shunsui to actually look up from under the table he was currently half-under. Or... try to, at any rate. The back of his head collided with the edge of the table and he yelped, then slowly sat up, hand rubbing his head and glaring a bit at the table. "Come on in." Maybe whoever was out there could help him look for whatever it was he was looking for.

His Nanao was lovely, that was sure, but she was also a brilliant and cruel woman. Brilliance and cruelty should never go hand in hand so well.

His face lit up upon seeing Shuuhei -- or more appropriately at the sake in Shuuhei's hands. "Ah! Anyone who comes bearing gifts is, of course, welcome. Come, come. Sit." He hoisted himself to his feet and hat and haori off the table they were resting on. Unceremoniously, he dumped them on the nearest flat and halfway clean surface, which was a chair in the corner of the room. (Who needed a coatrack when you had a perfectly good chair?)

She was running a bit late, but it wasn't her fault! Well, at least she didn't think so. How was she supposed to have known that she had misplaced the reports? They had at least been finished, or more or less so. Just a few lines here and there. Nothing big, but of course it had had to have happened tonight
