She wasn't the type of person to say anything about her own internal conflicts, for it had always been like that. Her nose was always going into other people's business, but it didn't quite work the opposite way. In a manner, she was more private than anyone else when it came to the intimate details of her private life, for there were some things she didn't feel like sharing with one and all. People likely speculated anyway, and that wasn't something that she could control, but the actuallity of it she could. She wasn't the type of person to rely upon others, but rather took care of things herself. Few saw her without her shields intact, and even then the times were far and few between. Toushirou was the one who could likely read her moods the best simply because they worked together and he had caught her here and there in the past sinking into her thoughts. Of course he also knocked her out of them in his own way by surprising her out of both the mood, and almost her top ( ... )

He knew she was someone who liked to keep her problems to herself. It showed an amount of maturity and strength, but it also made things difficult when one wanted to help. If Rangiku was anything, she was an independent woman, self-sufficient despite her tendency to empty his pockets. It was one of the things he liked about her, and god forbid he get too nosey and make her feel smothered. That would surely drive her away. She was a grown woman, older than he was, and fully capable of taking care of herself. That did not stop him, however, from wanting to take care of her anyway.

At the very least, he wanted to be there for her when she needed someone, whatever their relationship status was. He felt like he failed not only has a boyfriend, but a friend, too. He should have known what day it was. Though he did his best to avoid talking about anything Ichimaru-related, maybe it was finally time to learn about the man everyone loved to hate. That did not make him particularly excited ( ... )

She regarded him with a silent look as he moved within her quarters and glanced about, as if to confirm something. A quizzical eyebrow only rose higher on her forehead. She was good at reading people, or so she liked to think, and it was easy enough to see that he looked down and not at her. Had something happened to her captain again? He'd been pretty awkward that time and she had been more than a little upset, though at who she did not know. Just upset in general, with a touch of annoyance and frustration, for it had seemed like everyone had known about her captain before she had, even though that had not been the case ( ... )

At the mention of arresting Hitsugaya all over again, Shuuhei looked momentarily stirred. No, he knew she was joking, but that was a memory both of them would rather forget, he was sure. The Tenth was easy to access and work with since it was right next door, but sine that incident, he and the Captain had not been on the best of terms. Not that they were ever close to begin with, but it felt like there was a new tension in the air between them. Shuuhei did as best he could to stay out of Hitsugaya's way, save for Captain's Meetings. He felt a bit like a teenager trying to sneak away with a scary father's daughter. Only the scary father was half his age and height. Way to feel manly ( ... )

Despite herself, her lips gave a small quirk upward. She wondered whether he actually had any time, or if he was just saying that because he wished it were true. He was a good boy, a hard worker and always trying to please. Rangiku had always respected him for a variety of reasons, although her respect for him had grown since the time that they had actually started going out. She had assumed that he wouldn't be the type to run around and tell everyone everything about their relationship, and it had proven true. Big brownie points in his direction, as she was sure that some people would have bragged the first change that they received. She hadn't heard a peep from anyone though ( ... )
