Carelessly Jumping on the Bandwagon of My Peers

Mar 18, 2011 16:44

A few years ago I posted these two little gems--remarkable letters of apology created by students who were misbehaving in the library.  Every now and then I reread them and smile.

I Hope This Event Does Not Occur Again

Please Heed to This Letter

Today, I received an adorable new apology letter penned by a small boy caught running in the hall.  ( Read more... )

While I was carelessly jumping on the bandwagon of my peers,
Something about this phrase makes me smile. Possibly because of its closeness to "While I was carelessly jumping on my peers,"

How have you been, Checkers? I thought of you yesterday-- someone was singing "Sweet Caroline," badly, in the airport...

So glad I wasn't there to hear it! :)

I have a feeling that with these writing skills, this child will get into any college he chooses.

I am well! Working on the second round of book revisions and our goal is to have the whole thing off our plates by the end of this month. The school year has flown by--I've seldom been so busy in my life! So looking forward to summer.

What about you? Are you in the whirlwind of getting ready to relocate yet? Finishing up where you are? Relieved the big decision is made?

LJ appears to be eating comments! *suspicious look* You once asked Peggy and I why we couldn't think of you when we heard music you actually like. Any particular songs you want me to associate with you?

Wow, almost done with the book? Way to go, that's awesome! Do you have big plans for summer, or just sitting around relaxing? :)

I am finishing up where I am, very relieved the big decision is made, and trying not to think about having to move again. I hope this time I can stay in the same flat for more than a year.

I know! I just want to huggle all the little 6th graders. They are wonderful.

I see a career in literature in someone's future!

That bandwagon metaphor is made much more vivid by the jumping onto it--it sounds dangerous and precarious. Which is very apt.

Yes! Carelessly jumping, too. So rash. :)

What a well-penned letter! I'm impressed. And awww, it makes me miss working in a school (though when I worked in a high school, nobody ever made those kids write apologies, which was too bad). Middle schoolers are just hilarious. (c;
