Ack, it was too hot to wear the cape today! Yeah, it's fine I guess. Tendinitis. Some physical therapy and hope it's ok after that. Tennis elbow, which is pretty crazy since I do not play tennis. More like computer mouse elbow, I'd say.
Ah ha, but now you can dress up in tennis clothes and lounge around eating snacks and sigh over how your tennis elbow prevents you from playing tennis!
Yikes! Ouch. I once took 6 months worth of NSAIDS instead of having a shot of cortisone in my shoulder...I'm such a baby. Same thing...tendonitis or bursitis. I firmly believe long sharp pointy thingies should NOT be inserted into my joints.
Dr Tiegirl prescribes LOTS of rest. Do not carry dishes. Do not carry laundry baskets. Do not carry garbage bags. Do not carry grocery bags. Do not lift serving dishes. Do not carry that tote thing people sometimes use to tote things around used to clean houses. Do not push a broom or vacuum-cleaner. Do not (for the gods' sakes) SCRUB anything. Do not lift anything heavier than a book. And hire someone (or bribe someone) to carry your luggage. Get the picture?
Yay for last day of school. Boo for tennis elbow. Yay for imminent travel.
I like the way Dr. Tiegirl thinks! You obviously know much more than the ortho doctor, who completely forgot to mention all those things I shouldn't be doing.
She gave me a choice between NSAIDS/therapy and cortisone/therapy. I had to really think about it because I generally disapprove of needles in my joints, too. But I'm sick of it, so hopefully this will speed up recovery.
Say, do you have a prescription pad you can jot all those restrictions on for me?
Well, a techie would whip one up for you and post it here for you to print out. Unfortunately Dr Tiegirl is the opposite of a techie. Perhaps you could copy and paste the DON'TS onto a piece of paper. Although I was half-joking, it is true that the only real cure is rest, period. So there! And free advice, to boot! The most valuable kind!
I can imagine :/ It sounds like something similar that happened to my math teacher at the beginning of the year. He was pretty amusing though - would switch hands while writing at the chalkboard randomly whenever his injured arm got tired and let us try to decipher what he meant. (He is actually ambidexterous though not as neat with his left hand in English)
