Boredom

So bored.

I've been sitting around doing nothing for several days now. It's much too hot to even think about going outside. I'm trying very hard not to eat. Nothing going on in Sounis. Can't spend any money after going on vacation and being without a paycheck for another month or so. That's a disadvantage of working a job that only pays you 10

That's exactly why I think schools should end earlier (before you are totally checked out of the learning process) and start earlier (when you're starting to get bored) rather than the vice versa the School Board Powers That Be seem to think is necessary.

I usually assign vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom when my kids mention being bored. Needless to say, I don't hear it very often.

My school used to get out earlier and start earlier, and no one seemed to like that. Going back in early August when it's so hot was tough, and it took away a lot of good vacation/beach time from families. Pools had to close early in the season because life guards were back in school. There's no easy answer. My problem is more from the heat, I think, than actual boredom.

My sympathies on the heat. It is also very very hot here. I think the heat index has been in the low 100s lately. I hope you have air conditioning? (!) You could always do what I do and go for long bike rides in the middle of the day... ;-) (Joking! I was joking!)

Can you get some nice movies from the public library or something? Or... plan another conspiracy in Sounis!!
