I woke up this morning to the sound of Ozzie throwing up.  In my slipper.  What's with that?  It's as if he did that on purpose.  Needless to say, I have  a brand new pair of slippers now.

I mentioned in one of my first LJ entries that my cat is a miracle of modern science, but I didn't explain why. I will now.

When Ozzie was three, he stopped eating ( Read more... )

What a handsome kitty!

My friend had to do the fluid thing with her cat, when it became diabetic. Again, amazing what we can do, when needs must.

Sorry about the slippers, but hey, I bet you had lots of good sale prices to choose from! Kind of like my mixer just dying. Terrible timing, in that I use it more this time of year than any other, but at least there are oodles of sales.

I hope you are going for the Kitchen Aid. In red. :) I've been tempted to push my mixer onto the floor to get one of those.

Ozzie doesn't watch much tv, but it really seemed like he was studying Puss In Boots so he, a la Willow, could learn to do the Big Sad Eyes thing.

Do we have a Volvo, Avian? Is the car stupid, or the owner? :)

He looks lovely! It seems strange that such a simple (although I can see how it would be difficult to do!) solution keeps him healthy. What a lucky cat to have such a devoted owner. Maybe he was just trying to express his appreciation for you this morning, in a way only cats can understand :)

It is strange that such a simple thing works, isn't it? I'm always tempted to yell, "Drink, stupid cat! If you could drink that much, it might do the same thing and be much easier on us both!"

I think he was actually trying to tell me, in no uncertain terms, that I had slept long enough.

OK that explanation sounds more cat-like.

I forgot to say I like his stripes. No wonder he thinks he's a tiger!

Emma, I'm so glad you made it to the chat. You must love us very much to get up that early on a weekend. :) Did it seem like a huge confusing maelstrom of wrathful chaos? There aren't usually so many people there (that makes it hard to follow) and we usually do talk about the books at least a little.

Oz really is a beautiful cat. And that must have been an awful thing to find out - but wow, five years on and still going strong! :)

Ozzie is lovely! I love ginger cats and was thinking of getting one before Calcifer showed up and changed everything. Maybe Ozzie knew you wanted new slippers but couldn't justify buying new ones yet. Or maybe he just wanted you to wake up. I admire your patience for the injection thing. Five years! Woohoo! Calcifer squirms if I try put a collar with a bell on him.

Orange cats have the best personalities, I think. I don't blame Calcifer (and my next cat WILL be called Calcifer). A bell is quite undignified.
