It's like Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla. And I'm impressed by the result.

Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. I just watched Cloverfield. Jesus fucking Christ.

Okay, that? I am loathe to admit it (it's a disaster movie), but that was probably one of the best, if not the best, movies I have ever seen. Brilliantly shot, I love that it's a disaster movie that doesn't focus on the monster and the soldiers and the big effects shot ( Read more... )

movies, sweet jesus, !!!!!!

I went to go see it in theaters and that was the first time I have ever heard a theater be dead silent at the end of the movie. And then people actually started clapping. It was epic.

IN CONCLUSION, CLOVERFIELD > PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING

We don't know each other or anything, but...

Cloverfield... Was horrible. I got stuck at the plot. What the fuck kind of moron goes back in the middle of a monster/alien attack for a girl who was more than likely going to be dead at the time they got there? On top of... HOW SELFISH ARE YOU? You're dragging your friends on a futile mission!! IDIOT.

I agree it was nicely filmed... but honestly? Plot is important and it lacked like hell. I couldn't even finish the movie I was so disgusted.

But, um, hey, nice to meetcha'. I like your porn.

True, the plot was kind of stupid, but it didn't bother me so much because it's about as old as dirt. Honestly, it was what I expected to happen the moment they stepped on the Brooklyn Bridge, I knew they had to go back. It's pretty much the fable of every action movie ever, so I honestly didn't even notice it. And on top of that, he thought he had to go back, but his friends didn't, they did because they loved him. They could have just as easily turned away and ran, but that wouldn't have made for much of amovie. In short, sure, they could have done something a bit more original but besides the cheese in the end, I thought their lack of original plot the rest of the movie was good enough that I didn't care much.

Um. I may or may not have spent my entire high school career analyzing books and movies in this way, sorry. *g*

Hey, nice to meet you too, and thank you very much.

Bahh. If it hadn't been 3 in the morning I would have felt like I wasted an hour of my life I could have been writing porn. Psh.

It is perfectly alright! All valid points you have. I'm more of a 'ohhh good plot!' kind of a girl... And it shows. My recent obsession with Weeds, is because I was all "HOW AMAZING DOES THAT SOUND?" Plus, there were cool recipe ideas on the dvd to the first season...

:D! No problemmm.

I'm... a little undecided on the plot. To me, it doesn't really matter if it's the most clichéd thing in the universe as long as the rest of the movie works, you know? Which Cloverfield did, to me. But I totally get where you're coming from, especially concerning tv series (which is the reason I can't watch SPN for more than a season at a time). *g*
