I lived in Taylor for a couple of years. Down at Tellegraph and Wick. Don't move to Taylor. It's kinda like the Clinton Twp. of Down River. I don't like Clinton Twp. If you took southern Macomb county and flipped it upside down and you stuck it under Detroit, you'd have Down River. And visa-versa. If you want diferent, move to Oakland county. Along with Chris and all those other higher minds and greater talents. Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah!
Don't move to Taylor.
Another good reason. No place to jam. Scalici's? That's the worst place to try and get a crowd to. Well, we suck. We can't get a crowd anywhere. But that's the only place I know of to play. There was one place down in Wyandotte that we played. Real small room. On Northline somewhere. We got cut off, they called the police on us and we got escorted out of town. I guess we won't be playing there ever again.
East side rules for places to play. And there is also easy access to Ham-town and points south for jammin.
its like any other suburb..:oP kinda boring but really close to detroit so its kinda cool living here! plus im here...thats all the motivation you need :oP
I kind of would like be a bit diffferent than most local bands and put together a New Wave/Punk/Metal style pop band if that sort of thing can even exist?
I really want a good synth/keyboard player, open minded guitar player (lol), bass player, and male and female singers.
But what will I have to settle for? ... probably a crumby punk band or something of that nature.
You want a mix of sounds. I hear ya. Don't settle for a crumby punk band. I'm in a crumby punk band. Though we can rock sometimes, we're jinxed. We've had bad luck from the git....
The name "the Ballistics" has 13 letters, and to top it off we put a 13 at the end of the name. 13 13. Jinxed I tell ya. We've never had that sweet sweet show at a good venue and I don't think we ever will. We're so underground even the underground call us underground. Sub-underground. We've had a lot of the sweet places to play just shut thier door in our face and throw our CD's away without even listening to them. We suck! Detroit's most hated band! We are the "Nastiest Punk Band in Detoit!!!"
So in short, I don't ever want to be in a punk band again. I'm above it. I have more to offer than such a narrow genre of music. If you want to jam with me, that's cool, I just don't want it to be a crumby punk band.
Sorry for expounding. I've never put any of those thoughts down into text yet. It was about time.
Yea, I just want to play with some people that aren't control freaks, image freaks, or closed minded. I know you know what I mean. I don't like to be in stressful bands that don't communicate with each other and talk behind each others backs. That shit will stress you out! I will never be in a band like that again. The last one dam near killed me! It's got to be about the fun for me first. If it aint fun no more, I'm gone.
Yea, I like to be experimental with music and I don't just want to limit myself to one style of music either.
Yea Q, you seem like you do have a lot to offer a band. I like the way you play the guitar! We should hook up when I come back down.
I also know that I would really for once in my life like to find somebody that can actually sing. I have played with many great musicians/bands, but the thing that always held us back was the vocalist. I can sing OK, but I would not want to sing all of the time. besides, there are people out there that can really sing and can't find the right band for them.
