Nuts!

In your experience, where is the cheapest place to buy nuts? Preferably cashews or brazil nuts, the less salty the better.

Thanks!

My co-ops bulk section is the cheapest I can find in town but I think that bulk sections are usually your best bet. I'm interested to see other folks' responses.

Yeah me too. I tend to think of Trader Joe's as the holy mecca of all things cheap but if they are cheaper in bulk at Whole Foods I MAY actually venture in (I hate going to Whole Foods and it's the only store in the area that I know has a bulk section. Sad face.).

I generally get mine at TJ's. I'd be really surprised if they're cheaper at expensive bulk places like Whole Foods. Other people talking about ethnic groceries are probably right that they're even cheaper, though.

My farmer's market seems to be the cheapest for me.

I live in NY and going into "Little India" is by far the cheapest place to get a lot of spices and nuts and stuff in bulk.

I go to Indian or Greek delis. They have nuts in bulk for at least half the price of regular supermarkets. I'm in Australia so I don't know if is likely to be the same where you are. The Asian supermarkets also have them quite cheap, but not as wide a range of nuts.
