I went to taco bell today and was pleasantly surprise that they have a new menu that is cheap (79, 89, and 99 cents) and many of the items are vegan or vegetarian. Most can be made vegan simply by omitting the cheese.They have a 99 cent 1/2 lb cheesy bean and rice burrito. 79 cent triple layer nachos which come with beans, red sauce and nacho

Last time I was there, I tried the bean burrito Fresco. It was nowhere near as good as a regular bean burrito (sans cheese). I prefer the regular sauce and there weren't enough onions, just some tasteless tomatoes.

True, but it certainly helps that it's cheap, and if you're in a bind, money-wise.

for the same price I can buy beans and rice and cook an actual vegan meal. Dehydrated refried beans? No thanks.

You should try it made with Pepsi instead of water. There was a facsinating collision of an exploded bottle of Pepsi and a broken bag of beans on a truck one day. *shudders*

Yes. The Taco Bell is my shinning beacon on the road. That and Subway. I literally would have been malnourished if it weren't for them

i love the bell but the only thing i can think of that subway has to offer is their 'salad on bread' sandwich thing.

salad on bread. However, when you are a truck driver it's pretty much the only fresh veggies you get unless you happen upon a truck stop with a salad bar. It's not great, but it's food.
