"Tiamat," I say without thinking. "Dungeons and Dragons. See? Here's a red dragon. Most powerful of the chromatic dragons." I pick it up and make it chase after a plastic Princess Leia. "Help me, Obi-Wan," she simpers in my wavering falsetto. "You're my only hope."

Wickham looks at me incredulously. "If you had any decency at all, you'd set Agent Scully straight on exactly what kind of freak you are."

"I'm Rick James, bitch," says the dragon, while Xena looks on in admiration.

Couldn't stop laughing at this, so awesome. Geekiness rules! And in the words of scully, "Smart is sexy", and so is geekiness by default. *G* Glad to see they got their groove on :P

Poor Scully....you know medical persons are ALWAYS the most stubborn in admitting that they themselves are sick -- we can't help it.

Great post!

I tell you what, the trickiest part was figuring out why in the hell she didn't get her head examined after the Jerse thing. I'm so glad you're still enjoying this!

And geekiness totally rules.

I can see where that would definitely be tricky.

She was conscious after he bbq'd his own arm, so we can only assume that she was so when medical attention arrived. And Scully being stubborn Scully (as you depicted nicely) didn't see the need probably. That laced with the nagging words of Leonard probably heightened the denial factor. I think you captured why nicely.

Completely awesome, from the left-handed omission to the "Get over here, Scully" line to the Imitrex.

I can't believe there will only be one more part to this. *sobs in anticipation of the end* More! *begs piteously* More!

So very, very good. I don't have the right words to describe how much I love your story. The tension at April Larsen's body had me saying "Oh my god" outloud. It was so amazing.

And the sexy tiems rocked.

You certainly know how to hand out the compliments! Those were the two scenes that made me anxious about posting this chapter. Thanks very much.

Hey, that is just great. I like the character you introduced although I find him a bit peculiar but the whole story, the whole setting of the case is really good and interesting. And I loved the way they figured the thing (motive) concerning the Amazones out, interesting and a really good idea. But what I like most about this story is the actual writing, the way you write Mulder and Scully here is just believeable (how their relationship evolves) and sensitive concerning the subject of her not being well and the not-talking issue.
I really enjoyed it.

Thank you! It always perks me up when people feel the characterization works because to me, that is the essence of fanfic. Everything else is just window-dressing.

And yeah, Wickham is a bit peculiar. *laugh* But I still have a little crush on him.

I dig my cell phone out of my pocket to call my albatross.

I laughed, and my heart fluttered a little bit too. Albatross sex was pretty hot to :P

Okay, "albatross sex" just cracked me up. I'm having this Leda-and-the-swan image now.

And your heart fluttered? Awww....
