[Apollo seems better now that he's out of Cherrygrove. He's still a little more reserved than usual but at least he isn't freaking out and talking like the apocalypse is coming.]

I'm sure Trucy will make plans for me, whether I want them or not.

[Yeah, at least they're finally on the move.]

Probably. I'll bet you anything she'll try and drag me into whatever she's planning, too. [Instead of sounding exasperated, though, he gives an affectionate laugh. Not even Kristoph can dampen Phoenix's Halloween spirit, dammit!]

You laugh now... [It's not harsh; actually, he thinks a break from the everyday in Johto might be nice. A break in a good way, at least.]

I haven't celebrated Halloween since I was a kid. I hope the traditions here aren't too different.

Probably not. It looks like there's no formal Halloween here in Johto, so all of the Trainers are going to be celebrating in their own way. I'm sure we can team up with plenty of others in Violet.

Do you know anyone in Violet besides Trucy?

Well, there's Jack, and Pearls is still there, too.

Other than that...aside from a few others I've seen on the network, no. [Orz.]

I don't think I've spoken to either of them.

I see. Is it weird to meet someone over the network in person?

Jack Skellington and Pearl Fey. Pearls is Maya's younger cousin, and Jack...are you even old enough to remember A Night Before Christmas? [After all, if Apollo is from nine years in Phoenix's future, and is only about Phoenix's age then--]

A bit, especially when you've talked to them for so long on the Pokegear that it just seems, well...odd, to meet them in person. But it's easy enough once you're used to it.

Sort of. It's about a skeleton that saves Christmas, right?

[Wait.] Are you telling me that a movie character is here?

it's sad how he says this so easily now, sob cheapblusuits October 23 2010, 01:24:48 UTC
Yup. Only he's a lot more, er...fleshy. Here, that is.

Oh, yeah. Minnie Mouse is here, too.

...and Donald Duck, I think.

I'm still waiting for Simba to show up.

It happens to them all in time. justicepuns October 23 2010, 01:34:28 UTC
F-fleshy?

So this means what's fictional where we're from is real to them. At least I know what not to bring up with them if I ever meet them.

As in, a living human being. Don't let that put you off, though -- he's a good guy.

...yeah, I guess it does, huh? I never really thought of that... [While he and Jack DID discuss Halloween Town a bit, Phoenix never actually made the correlation between 'movie to them' and 'lol real word to him.']

Normally, I would be put off if they aren't living. I'll introduce myself if I get a chance.

It's hard for me to wrap my head around.

I'm sure the two of you will get along fine. [Grin!]

Well, it is a bit counterintuitive, I guess. I was pretty nervous when I met Kay for the first time, after only speaking to her through the Pokegear.

Y-yeah.

Kay seems like she'd be the same no matter how you talk to her.
