Well, it's the last day of the month, so here's the next update of Best Forgotten. I'm sorry to be dragging this story out so long and posting such incomplete updates, but it's been hard to find time to write (much less revise. Essentially, you're getting a rough draft here.) This chapter was supposed to have another section, but rather than miss ( Read more... )

I'm glad you keep to your deadlines. It's a real treat at the end of the month. Rough draft or not!
The tension is so high and palatable at this point, it's going to take a moment to get my heart to stop racing as I refocus on rl and work! This was a wonderful update and here's hoping Lucy can at least buy time until the Cohens arrive!

*shaking with fear once again*
Like at the end of every month when finally a new chapter appears.

Aw, kat, I'm sorry about the shaking with fear! Lucy and I are trying to get Ryan out of that clinic, but neither one of us seems to be working very fast. I'll try to make both of us speed up (and the Cohens too!)

I'm barely making my own deadlines, fred, but I am determined to finish this story before the end of 2010! Meanwhile, thanks so much for reading and responding.

Lucy's our girl. She wasn't in the "trains" line instead of "brains." You've created- and fleshed out- a wonderful, empathetic character who uses her instincts, heart and head. It's good to see she has someone she can count on. The more, the better. One is hardly an army, but the Dr. Killers (and Caleb Nichols) of the world always underestimate and dismiss everyone else. Arrogance and greed make anyone vulnerable and self-destructive. Then there are the other motives...

If Ryan's fate and life were hanging by a thread before, now it's fraying and unraveling. Since he was physically, as well as emotionally MIA, I shudder to think of just what state you've left him in and at whose hands. Lucy doesn't have much time, even if you have... 30 days to drag out the torture. If the Cohens continue to be clueless, or decide to get some snorkeling in, Lucy could always blow the whistle with DCFS/Social Services- and be put on hold! Dare I even hope for the tide to turn?

Aw, beach, I'm so glad you like Lucy! I'm quite fond of her myself. As for Ryan . . . well, you'll see him next update. And the Cohens won't go snorkeling, I promise!

Glad to hear it- okay, all of it (although "seeing" Ryan doesn't mean we'll like what we "see).

Thanks for reading, marsalka. I have to admit--the cliffhangers are fun to write!
