I once was representing FCNL at a Christian Eco Conference. They talked a lot about loving the Earth as God's creation and one priest said that he worries that people will forget the stories and other particular attachments they have to the land itself. This is good, but, I thought, how powerful it is to actually love and worship the Earth Herself.
On the other hand, I find it terribly ironic and sad when I see Pagans who are not making environmentalism an important part of their lives, particularly when they drive big trucks or use disposable plates instead of washing dishes.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the difference between being an environmentalist because you love what God has made, and being an environmentalist because you love the earth which is the Goddess. Which I do not mean as a critique of gender, but a critique of perceptions of deity, of which gender may or may not be a part.

And, oh I agree with you on the non-environmental Pagans.
