Haha, I honestly thought you were being sarcastic, so I was sarcastic back. It's long since been regarded as fact there is a whopping wage gap between genders, but some people still randomly insist it's a myth and ignore scads and scads of legitimate research and statistics (I could go through the article and list it off, but after spending three school terms researching the crap I'd rather not go through it; search 'gender wage gap' in any library/research database, or even just google it, and it's all there). Now that I've cooled off I'm not actually red-hot-annoyed anymore, since there's always someone who insists all the research (and real life evidence you can see in your own working life) doesn't apply, and take tiny statistics (refuted or interpreted otherwise by a buttload of other research) to back their backwards views up. Which basically happens with every political/financial/environmental/etc issue that rubs people the wrong way. C'est la vie.
