A surprisingly kind Chabad article for those of us without children

My mom is a wonderful person and we're very close, but most of the women who've inspired me or affected my life positively don't have children in the traditional sense, and they certainly are important.

Just because someone has children, it doesn't mean that they have special merit or blessed more than other people...a lot of people in this world have children who really don't deserve them.

I'm glad to see that Chabad is actually saying something encouraging about womyn without children. My humble opinion is that HaShem has a plan for everyone, and that plan, whether people like it or not, includes womyn who (**gasp**) don't want to be married and/or have children. :)

I don't see why someone who doesn't have the personality or temperament to be a mother should do so just because she has the body parts to get pregnant.
Given the number of traditional Jewish viewpoints that I've seen expressed about how the man's domain is the synagogue/public life while the woman's is the home and the children, I have to question how many people share this view. I mean, if the woman doesn't have children, she . . . has more time to bake challah?
