I'm pretty okay with the nominees especially since the writing has been on the wall (not an allusion to Sam Smith's nomination) with various film critics awards. I'm just shocked that Larson may very win the Oscar for Room. When she beat out Alicia or Saorise at the Golden Globes I was stunned.

Don't get the Mark Rylance love in Bridge of Spies. Definitely don't understand the Jennifer Lawrence nomination for Joy a film myself or none of my friends could barely get through. The Revenant, however, is well deserving.

I am not looking forward to viewing Room. I hate these domestic dame in peril movies and books and their be-fouled nests. They are the equivalent of Idiots With Guns in Bird Sanctuaries for me. A Penis and a Gun doesn't give anyone the World.

I have some things to say about The Danish Girl that I will write up even though the picture wasn't nominated. That movie made my teeth grind until sparks flew. I still love Alicia and like Eddie, but really....

Mark Rylance's performance in Bridge of Spies was very similar to his Woolf Hall performance. Even the same sort of character in a way. I like his quietness as an actor, it played well with Hank's more outgoing all American. I would have nominated Hanks for that movie. He was superb in it. The naive ignorant American who is not quite that gullible or weak as his personality would lead a foreigner to believe.

The discussion for the next few weeks will be interesting and stimulating and FUN! See Ya!

Thankfully it moves beyond that fairly quickly and becomes more about trauma--not as if that's any better LOL!

I talked to other people who've seen it and when I brought up how much I loved Eddie they began spoofing his mannerisms in the film. So I conceded that yes he spent the film posing and acting coquettish but he did it so well!
