What I Saw: Orphan Black

BBC American has a new series called Orphan Black that I am having a lot of fun watching. It is good and mindless (and I mean that in a laudatory way) and fast moving. It is a Prime example of Good Trash TV.

While rifling through the dead woman's bag, Sarah finds not only cash, but a driver's license (I should have paid more attention to it, maybe then I would know where in North America that this show is

I was so thrown off because since it's on BBC America and since Sarah and Felix are British I thought this was a British production. Then couldn't figure out why no one else at the police station or her boyfriend had accents.

Tatiana Maslany plays the Sister Clones and she is a Treasure. She gives them all different voices and accents and body language along with their different lives and characteristics (Alison is a Soccer Mom, Cosima is a Biological Graduate Student, and Beth, the dead woman, was a cop).

She's outstanding. She manages to make them all so different. It's seamless.

She is in 90% of the scenes but she never falters with each of her characters. She can handle the acting and the action sequences and the workload, and you believe that each Sister Clone is unique.

So you don't really know where this takes place either? Fortunately, it moves so fast that it doesn't really matter. But Paul, Beth's old Handler, looks like he is wearing a US Army uniform in the pictures that she had of him, so East Coast down the US way, maybe.

And BTW, Paul should never wear a shirt on this show, it is an offense to God, Country (where ever that country is), and those Abs of his.

I think I'm behind 2 episodes. I caught the most recent one and was happy to see Eric Johnson (Whitney, SV) as the jerko neighbor husband.
I think that Alison's Party Farce, and it was hilarious---very well done---I was laughing out loud LOL LOL LOL, was the latest episode. But I am enjoying this show so much that I don't really pay much attention to it, if that makes sense. I ( ... )
