It was hard to watch her...I gotta say I was proud of her for soldiering on. But, yeah. Her little puppy dog eyes, made me so sad for her. She really tried hard and did skate beautifully.
She should be proud, too. So many skaters would have given up, and she still sold that program as if nothing else matters. I hope she sees that as a triumph rather than a failure.
Sasha looked terrified as she skated out for her program! I've never seen that expression on her face before, or the dark circles around her eyes. I'm susprised she skated as well as she did, and happy that her scores reflected everything in her program, not just the two errors. Irina's program was just terrible. She skated like she was mentally and emotionally enhausted, and I'm sure she was.
I've always anjoyed Shizuka's elegant style. She's so cool, I think she makes too much of what she does look easy. Now NBC will have to track back and profile her and give her some attention, and I really like that.

It was all the more heartbreaking because the rest of the program was gold-medal material. I just didn't get much of a feeling, one way or the other, from Shizuka. I liked her short program a lot, however, so maybe it was just that I didn't like the program. (I love Puccini, so maybe I expect too much.)

They didn't do nearly enough of that, but I guess it's a balance of time. I also want to see the skating, and apparently, there were other events going on at the Olympics. (I used to watch everything, but I just wasn't all that interested this time.)
