I think I wrote a critique comparing the Pagan and New Age movements for the Pagan Institute many years ago. If you still ever visit there, you may find it if you poke around the essay archive.
I don't see how all of what we do now could not be connected to the New Age movement. By saying they're not connected is like saying the history of the United States isn't connected to the history of England. Of course, this is one of my biggest "issues" when interacting with people who think that Aleister Crowley is evil but continue to quote the book of the law without knowing it, or on the hand Ceremonial magicians who dismiss modern paganism as frivolous.
Have you read the Secret Life of Bees? I think you would really enjoy the Black Madonna imagery. It is more prevalent in the book than the movie (which I still thoroughly enjoyed)
Yes, I've read The Secret Life Of Bees, The Mermaid Chair, and I started The Dance of the Dissident Daughter and got sidetracked so I haven't finished it yet. I gave my mom my copy of The Secret Life of Bees and it will be interesting to hear her impression of it. Sue Monk Kidd is one of my favorite authors, for her writing style

Have you read the Secret Life of Bees? I think you would really enjoy the Black Madonna imagery. It is more prevalent in the book than the movie (which I still thoroughly enjoyed)
