Monday morning, Jack found Zack perched in the hood of his shitty Toyota, a paper in his hands as he scribbled down a few answers onto it.

"You know," Jack started, leaning against the side of the car cooly, looking up at him with a little smirk. "You could put down that stick and grab this one," he finished, gesturing to his crotch as he crossed his arms. Zack chuckled lightly, tucking his paper back into his back pack.

"You'd have to buy me diner first, sailor," he teased, hopping off the car and landing by Jack's side with a big smile.

"I thought I did that already."

"No, no, that was lunch," Zack clarified, grabbing his bag from the rusty hood, slinging it over his shoulder and heading toward the school from the parking lot. Jack kept up easily, matching his pace.

"Right," Jack answered, rolling his eyes with a little smile and reaching out to wrap an arm around the younger's waist. Zack eyed the other boy's hand that rubbed gently on his hip and blushed a light shade of pink. "So dinner, huh?"

Zack stopped, looking him in the eyes. "Just two days ago you were telling me that you were still freaked out that I tried to kiss you and now you're asking about a date with me? Call me crazy but I think you're bipolar."

Jack gave him a little sigh, taking both hands in his own and then frowning a bit at a spot on the ground. "You're right; you are crazy," he said and Zack huffed a laugh, blushing like mad at their interlocked hands. "And I don't want you to take it wrong, but I was thinking and," he paused for a second, Zack eying him skeptically.

"I was thinking that maybe it's time I...experiment a little. I've slept with boys before but kissing you didn't make me feel like I did when I was doing them; it made me feel weird. Maybe I'm the crazy one but what if that feeling wasn't disgust?"

Zack was staring down, toeing at the ground before he looked up at the elder with another skeptical frown. "Are you asking me to be a free trial for you?"

"Would you?" Jack asked, cooly reaching out to run his fingers through the top of Zack's, styled brown hair. The younger bit his lip, rolling his eyes a little.

"Fine, Jack. But damn it, you'd better make that dinner perfect," he warned half-heartedly and Jack just laughed a little.

(One school week later. Friday)

"Damn it," Jack muttered, setting his yellow pencil down in front of him and slumping against the slate table.  Alex caught the action out of the corner of his eye, smirking and coming over to lean over Jack, checking over his paper. Jack couldn't comprehend quite why Alex had assigned such a large assignment on a Friday; he'd even said himself that he didn't like homework on weekends. Way to go back on your own words, Alex.

"Oh, come on, Jack. This is good," Alex assured and Kyle next to him giggled into his hand, reaching up with the other one to femininely brush away a strip of his platinum blonde hair.
"Now all you need to do is pick a topic...and then actually write about it," he joked and Jack huffed defeatedly.

"Oh, shut up. Just because you're so damn smart doesn't mean you get to walk around and make fun of other people," Jack sneered, watching his as he stood up straight to walk to the front of Jack's slate table and perch himself there. He rolled his eyes and leaned down, cupping Jack's face in his hands and pulling him a little closer. Jack felt his cheeks instantly flush, flare and burn as he bottom lip fell open a inch, scowl prominently on his features.

"What's wrong, Jack, Don't like people teasing you? Can't handle it. I get it; some people just can't," he said with a teasing smirk. He let go of Jack and stood, walking to the white board to demonstrate how the perfect essay was composed, one more time.

Mean while, Kyle was giggling quietly but wildly as Jack took a binder from the surface of his desk to place in his lap, shifty eyes as he tried his best to hide the obvious problem there.

--

"Jack," Kyle called, catching up to him in the busy hall and noticing, only then, that there was another boy by Jack's side. He paused as the boy's green eyes fell on him but Kyle's fell on Jack's arm that was wrapped around the brown haired boy's waist.

"You've gotta be Zack, right?" Kyle asked, holding a hand out to him and receiving one in return.

"Uhm, yeah I am," Zack answered sheepishly, biting one side of his lip cutely.

"Zack, this is Kyle; he's a friend of mine from Junior English," Jack clarified and Kyle nodded a few times.

"Wow, you've got some blonde hair," Zack said in the nicest way he could and Kyle nodded.

"Yeah, I do. So...are you two?" he started, gesturing between the two of them with hesitant eyes.

"Uh, yeah. I'm taking your advice and giving it a shot," Jack agreed with a 'go with it' smile down at the younger Senior.

"That's good, Jack; I think you need a little diversity in your relationships," Kyle said awkwardly and Zack spoke up then.

"I'm going to go get my book bag quick. I'll meet you at your house tomorrow; round eight?" he asked Jack, reaching up and fluffing a hand through his raven and skunk hair. Jack nodded with a little half smile.

"It was nice meeting you," Zack finished before heading off down the other hall through the crowd of people.

"What are you doing, Jack?" Kyle asked, reaching forward and slapping the elder's arm with a bit of force.

Jack's eyes went wide, jaw falling open with shock. "What?!"

"When I said experiment with game, I meant that you should experiment with another guy first, not your best friend! That way, if you're not really into guys, you're not losing anyone really important to you," Kyle explained, throwing his hands out in gesture. "Damn it, Jack; where's your brain?!"

"I, I don't know!" Jack said defensively, stuffing his hands into his pockets and hanging his head a bit. "I thought it was a good idea."

"Well you'd better hope it works out, your entire relationship is on the line, boy. Do you have a date with him?"

"Tomorrow, actually," Jack clarified as he gestured for Kyle to head to his locker with him and the boy followed.

"Well, make it really simple; you're going want to go super easy for a while. That means, no kissing, touching or serious flirting. I'd suggest a simple diner at an easy restaurant where you can talk casually," Kyle explained. "Might I suggest even a dinner at a fast food restaurant?"

"Erm, that's not very classy," Jack said with a little laugh as he knelt to the bottom of his locker and tucked his homework into his back pack.

"Yeah, well you don't want it to be until you're sure you feel right about it. Have you clarified that all this is really just to figure out how you feel? I don't want you ruining him," Kyle said with a bit of a worried eye roll.

"Yeah, that was the first thing I told him; I mean, I'm not that sadistic."

"I don't believe that," Kyle said with a fond eye roll. "You're a typical, self declared straight boy. All you want is a good fuck and you'll do anything to get it, but I'm serious, Jack, don't hurt him."

"I'm working on it, Kyle."
