Jack arrived at the beach and was very surprised not to find Cedric already there. Cedric was always wherever they were going first. But he shrugged, found a convenient driftwood log, and hopped up on it to wait

After twenty minutes, he wandered up and then down the beach, on the off chance he might have the wrong place.

Forty minutes later and he walked the path he'd followed to get here, but there wasn't any sign of him.

An hour and a half later, he was back on the log, arms wrapped around his knees for warmth, staring out over the ocean.

Waiting.

Last night's adventures were fun. But not getting home till OMG early meant that Isabel would up oversleeping a bit. Which was why she was late arriving at the beach. As she walked up, she couldn't help but remember the last time she'd met Jack and Cedric at the beach. Hopefully she wouldn't interrupt anything this time.

"Hey!" she called as she approached Jack. "Where's your wizard? I want to see him fly."

Jack slumped slightly when he saw Isabel was alone. He'd hoped maybe Cedric would be with her. "That would be the question of the hour."

"I'm late," Isabel said, sinking to sit next to Jack. "You mean Cedric's not here? That's not like him."
