my computer has a virus!! I can't find any anti-virus softwear around here. Before, my roommate was always the one to deal with computer issues.

what on earth can I/should I do...?

Download AVG and a Sygate firewall?

How do you know it has a virus? What messages are you getting?

I don't recommend AVG.. Try Zone Lab's Zone Alarm.
Go to @forumz, "Help With Computers" Forum and read the sticky. It has all the information to help you.

I highly recommend Mozilla Firefox, Lavasoft's Ad-Aware and Spybot's Search And Destroy. :)

I have succumbed to Mozilla...

And the Lavasoft thing is cool... no pop ups! No matter what I downloaded on recommendation to stop them they kept coming up... nothing now :o)
