"Hey," Parker said, sounding subdued as she came out of the cabin with a small package in her hand. "When does your flight leave?"

Angela checked her watch. "Hey, Parker," she said. "I have .. an hour and a half before I need to head out."

Not nearly enough time.

"For you," Parker said, handing over the brightly wrapped package. "Something for the plane, and this summer, when you get bored." She sat down next to Angela and gave her a small smile. "I wish we could have had one more trip into Special Collections."

Angela unwrapped the book. "It looks amazing," she told Parker, touching the cover lightly. "Thank you."

She shook her head. "There were so many lasts I never got around to. I kind of quit wanting to do anything after Marty left."

"You're welcome. Something to inspire you, I hope." Parker wrapped her arms around her knees. "I know, way too many things." She shot Angela a sympathetic look. "And I get that. Two days left; I'm not seeing the point to doing much now."

"I wish I had two days," Angela admitted. "But ... maybe it would never be enough."

"Probably not," Parker said, smiling sadly. "Better a clean break, I guess." She shook her head. "We've come a looong way from that first week here, hunh?"

That cracked Angela up. "I can't believe Paige Matthews called you a skank, no offense to Zero. Or that I agreed with her."

Parker stuck her tongue out at her, then grinned. "I sadly can believe I threatened your life, but I'm mostly sorry it took me until Christmas to apologize for that. God, sooooo much has happened since then."

"It's been a long two years," Angela agreed. "And the threatening thing is long forgotten." She reached for a hug. "Library minions forever?"

"Forever and ever," Parker said, reaching back and hugging her too. "You keep in touch, no matter what, okay?"

"No matter what," Angela promised, thinking how weird it was she and Parker had ended up where they did. "E-mails, calls, letters, I'll track down a carrier pigeon if I have to. Good luck at Oxford."

"And you," Parker said, pulling back and smiling. "And great luck in New York. You're going to have such a blast." She smiled, squeezing Angela's hand before letting it drop. "I'm gonna go back in. So I don't start getting mopey on you or sniffling or... yeah."

"And if you started, I would too," Angela said, making a valiant effort to avoid it. "So .. yeah. Go inside. I'll write soon."

"Better idea, I'm going inside to leave you a message so you have one waiting for you in Cleveland," Parker said, stepping away, smiling with only a hit of teariness. "So check that, when you're gone."

"Bye, Angela."

And Parker went inside to do just that.
