"Miss Chase, this is Aziraphale. I wanted to tell you how glad I am to hear that you're all right, and...well, I was hoping you would be willing to talk a minute about Mr Blank."

Angela grabbed the phone, pleased to hear the angel's voice, but with a sink of despair in her stomach. "Is he all right?" she asked, not bothering with a greeting.

"Oh goodness, my dear," Aziraphale replied hurriedly. "I didn't mean to frighten you. He's just fine, we were talking only a few minutes ago. I actually called you because I wanted to assure you that...well that there isn't anything wrong with him. No demons or possessions or anything like that."

Relief flooded through Angela. "That's fantastic," she said. "Scary, because ... well, now I don't know what got me. But I'm really happy to be sure it wasn't him. Thank you for calling."

"I'm certain it is frightening," Aziraphale agreed. "And I'm afraid all I can say is that we really are working on figuring it out. But you're very welcome, my dear, and I do hope that it makes you feel a bit better. If there's anything you need, just call me."

"Thanks," Angela said, then realized there was something.

"There's one thing," she said, a little hesitantly. "I want to go into Special Collections at the library and look up how to tell if someone's a demon, because I know there are things people can do to be sure? But I don't work there anymore, so I need a teacher's note. Could you e-mail me something or write one for me to pick up from your office or anything?"

"Oh, of course I will. I'll leave one tacked to my office door, for you to pick up whenever it's convenient. And that's an excellent idea, my dear. Hopefully the information you find will be helpful in keeping more people from being assaulted."

Aziraphale paused for a moment, thinking worriedly that there would probably be more attacks before they figured out who was behind them. "I'm sorry that these things are happening here," he finally said. "I...wish I knew how to stop it."

"I'll let people know whatever I find," Angela promised. "Thank you so, so much."

She paused. "Me too," she said. "I was talking to Nadia, and it sounds like this ... thing ... has a lot of frightening powers. It's worse than an invasion."

"You're welcome, Miss Chase. You know I'm always willing to do what I can to help with research." He frowned, and nodded, although Angela couldn't see that. "Yes...yes, much worse than an invasion, I'm afraid. This is secretive and uses our fear to its advantage. But we're working together now, as we should. And that's always been our greatest strength here in Fandom."
