I love that Eric was the mercenary, he just kid of seems the type. I also like how it sort of went downhill (emotionally) in the end, and then picked up on the last few lines. The little tale about the old woman was incredibly entertaining, and I love the idea of Vince thinking himself cursed like that.

Apart from all of that, what I like the most is how Eric still kind of controls how successful Vince is, despite them meeting so much later in life and with a less than amicable meet up.

Thank you. I did want to try and maintain the canon dynamic between the two even though the circumstance is so different.

I'm glad you liked the old woman. I enjoyed writing that part. I think it was one of the earliest pieces that came to me. Your considered feedback is greatly appreciated.

This was good, really good.

I have to say what I liked most was the ending. That it's not a fairy tale ending where either Eric stops being a contract killer or Vince becomes his new sidekick and they live (and kill) happily ever after. I like how open ended it is... all the possible ways their relationship could continue past the next two days without being completely ridiculous.

Extra bonus points for Eric not forgetting all his professional discipline at the first sight of Vince and falling madly in love with him. His reasons for not killing Vince were sound (even if they might have been influenced by his attraction to Vince).

The whole idea of Eric taking care of Vince, bringing his life back on track and Vince not fighting him but recognizing the opportunity for what it his and being thankful for it? I love it! :D

Thank you very much for reading this monster and taking the time to feedback. I'm very glad you liked the ending. I wanted to try and keep it as realistic as I could given the sort of unreality of the situation. What E does is a lot to overcome/reconcile since he's not repentant.

I'm happy you appreciated the non-fairy tale aspect. I struggled with it just a little since it's my first fic in the fandom and I came bearing uh, character death and no sex. Yikes.

Wow. You did a great job with this. You really sold E as a hitman and you made their "relationship" realistically work in this context.

Thank you! I'm glad you were able to appreciate E as a bad man :-) and that you found them still plausible in this world. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
