The plot thickens, yes! I was so happy to finally write the beginnings of self-aware romance. Poor Dean and Cas have a hard road in front of them. Oh Dean, with your heterosexual blinders on!
It's frustrating and rewarding bringing in canon characters and trying to keep true to them without retreading everything from Show, and how it manipulates the course of a story.
Glad you're enjoying! Thanks!

If yes, then I will do so.
If no, FUCK IT, IT'S STILL AWESOME <333
Love your AU, it's great! And poor Castiel with his borderline autism.

I beg to differ about Castiel being borderline autistic in this particular story. I had to go double check the symptoms for adults, just to be sure, and if anything, Castiel is the complete opposite. I'd love to hear how you interpreted him that way, though.
Thanks again for commenting!

Also, poor Castiel is going to have trouble concealing his changing feelings if every gay stripper in town immediately picks up on the fact that he's crushing on Dean. Well, maybe not. Dean can be sorta oblivious. ;)

I hope I live up to all of your unrealized expectations!!
Eh, Simon's a budding genius psychologist and is good at reading people. (but, seriosly, Castiel had the personal revelation to himself for all of five minutes before Simon figured him out. Hmm . . . maybe Simon's a little psychic?).
Dean is super oblivious :P Except for how he got nervous over Castiel's potential feelings for him before, back before Castiel was aware himself. I think he's brushed it off and now all the little tells are off his radar, because he's already dismissed the notion.

You have exceeded them, promise. *g*
Hee. Well, maybe Simon would have figured it out even if Castiel hadn't yet? That's kinda what I figured.

I think Dean can be both extremely observant and completely oblivious, and often at the same time. :)

Yeah, I think Castiel would still have exhibited some form of jealousy, even if he thought it was as a guy who found that his new and only friend had other "friends".

I like Simon. :) I gave a little excited cheer when Gabe & Crowley made appearances.
I am really loving all the intricate mafia business going on.
Like I said before (in my other acct), this feels just like the detective novels I used to read. Man, I can imagine reading this from those paperbacks with yellowing paper. I would totally pay for a story this cool.

And, what, no love for Dolores? (Whom I envisioned as Michael Weston's mom from Burn Notice, because she's awesome[ly annoying]). Glad you liked Simon! My second OC who might be recurring, we'll see how things play out.
Which account was that? I still need to get an author tag at deancastiel and searching my fic there is a pain (sorry, everyone! I'm doing housekeeping and working on linking). I do remember the comment, though, and was, and am still, terribly flattered.
*hurries up to replace the names of all the characters and get published* ;)

Yeah, when I was first checking for updates I might have missed, I checked under "Authors: C" in the community. Then I figured checking your LJ directly was easier. :) Oh my personal account which I am trying not to use for fandom-purposes anymore is disterra.
LOL! Just be sure to tell me what the new title of the book will be, so I can buy a copy right away xDD
