Well, sorry I haven't written in a while. Truthfully, nothing really exciting has been happening. I'm finally beginning to get into school mode, despite my best efforts to want to play video games forever. I figure within a couple weeks, I should be completely within school mode. The problem is, I have a Discrete Math (Logic) assignment due Monday, and I haven't looked at it yet, and... well, it's probably going to be hard. We'll see how it goes, I guess. I'm going to work on it a lot this weekend. Java is going well. Actually, I really love Java as a language, from what I've seen so far. I'm going to enjoy this class immensely, I think. Calc 3 is Calc 3. I got burned last week cause I didn't do the homework til right before class. Kari helped me salvage a couple of points from the quiz, but blegh... if not for her help in the twenty minutes before we left for class, I woulda been hurtin even more. Message to all South Rangers: Mr. Yeagle made Calculus extremely simple and extremely easy.
I haven't gone out at all this week. Well, we went to play racquetball once (a huge group of ten people), but that was still on campus, so I don't call that going out. Oh, and I went out with Megan to boardman because I wanted to use the gift certificate my sister got me. Considering how the next Wheel of Time book will be coming out in November though (and I didn't see any manga I really want), I'm going to save the gift certificate to use on it.
I haven't talked to the Byrd people yet to see about the status of my scholarship. I plan to email them soon (Actually, I said I'd email them Monday... so, by next Monday I should have that accomplished. Usually it takes me like a week to do anything after I say it'll be done). I just hope they didn't have to cut the scholarship money along with everything else because SOME certain political party can't manage money effectively and is cutting education funding like mad while raising many millions of dollars in campaigns for reelection. Hmm... I'll raise lots and lots of money to try to hold on to the power of a position that I'm not really good at. Riiiiiiiight. Sometimes I hate people. If you're not serving the public, if you're not helping them out, then leave! But no, people never want to give up power when they should... always have to keep on dragging it out. And meanwhile my taxes will keep on paying the salary of a man who is screwing the education system over all the while (with a huge smile) proclaiming how important education is!
Real story: Governor Taft went to the opening of the Poland public library, made a little speech, talking about how necessary libraries are and how much education means to him... less than three months later, he went and cut a whole bunch of money to the libraries. It sounds like some awful "bad guy's" plot from a movie... but its true. How sad.
Well, enough raging...
I just came back from a programming meeting with Dr. Kramer. There's this contest coming up, and I'm gonna try to get it on it. I don't know, I don't think I'm nearly as good a programmer as Dr. Kramer thinks I am... I mean, I know i"m good, better than most, but he introduced me as an "upcoming expert programmer". Mmm... I did a little nervous laugh thingie, but... anyway, hopefully I can fulfill his expectations at least somewhat. Anyway, I'm headin off for now, I'll see you later.
