I'm glad you two got a chance to go out.

I have some of those feelings about my nephew. Sometimes it all wells up in me and I can barely move; sometimes it's love and sometimes it's amazement and sometimes it's guilt and most often it's all of that. I have a sense of responsibility for his welfare that supersedes my own.

I don't mean to say that I know what it's like for you, but rather that I think I've had a tiny whiff of it. And in saying that, what I'm really trying to say is, I'm happy for all of you.

Noe hurry up and get over here so I can rassle that varmint.

What a sweet, poetic post! That's really awesome that it worked out so well...you got to put D down and got to go out. Fabulous!

BTW, I wouldn't be apologetic at all about the cry it out thing...you do whatever you do as a parent, and that's what you do! :) You're smart enough and intuitive enough to know to do what when.

I'm so excited to meet D! I have this weird feeling like I've already met him (I guess in a way I did, when he was in your belly!)...but I have to keep reminding myself that it's just photos I've seen and stories I've heard, I haven't really hung with him yet.
