How do you define yourself and your happiness?

It's funny - I have had 2 friends post about this topic in the past month or so. It is something we have all probably struggled with. Have I done enough in my life? Should I do more for my career? Should I go back to school? Is it a waste if I don't? Is my life meaningful without a successful career? I have some thoughts on this and I posted them ( Read more... )

So true.
Everyone I've spoken to about their work (if they don't like their job), including myself agree that what they do for a living is exactly that... WHAT YOU DO TO AFFORD THE LIFESTYLE YOU WANT. Who we are is everything outside of that.
And that includes going to school to make yourself a better person, volunteering to feel like you are more purpose, sports activities to help reduce stress, art, whatever...

Exactly. That's what I always say - my job is what I do to gain the means to live my life! I am one of the lucky ones and really do love my job. Not enough though, that if I won the lotto I would keep it! Hahaha!
