Cream butter and sugar thoroughly (I melt the butter myself because it's easier than creaming it and, after all, isn't that what microwaves were invented for?). Add egg and beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Mix thoroughly. Chill. Roll about 1/8 inch thick. Cut with any cookie cutters. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes. If you don't frost them sprinkle a little white sugar on top.
