Review: Heroes of Cosplay, Episode One

I love it. I love the vast variation of skills and experience and perceptions and behaviors. All the feelings, all the experiences, all the perceptions, it was all so VALID. It honestly reminded me of my earlier ( Read more... )

You said everything so well, Beverly. I, too, enjoyed the show.
It kills me to see how negative everyone is talking about it and the people on it. It showed me all the crazy dynamics of it. Starting a new project on short notice, not finishing on time (been there...several times), trying to impress a cosplayer I look up to, having my sewing machine go wrong on me, having things (good and bad) said about me and my costuming...the good and the bad of it all.
I don't compete, so a lot of this is a side to cosplay I don't normally see. For me it's interesting to see how it all plays out. And they're my friends on that show. I don't care how the show portrays them, because in the end they're still my friends and I love them and care about them.
