... was amazing. we made the front cover of the rutland herald, so there was a HUGE turnout. lots of people in the rutland/westrutland artist community that my mom has always been heavily involved in... which translated into lots of people coming at me arms outstretched saying "oohhh emma! you're all grown up ( Read more... )

YOU ARE THE BOMB-DIGGITY! your show was fan-fuckin-tabulous. i've told all my fellow nurses-to-be all about it and everyone is sick of hearing me gloat about my sister. you should post the rutland herald link on your journal.

your adoring sister

i can't tell you how impressed i was by you and your show and the turnout. i sort of feel full of cheese when i say this, but i really really admire your work. and always have. i tried to back off at the show because i knew you were super busy and i know how flustering it is because everyone wants to talk to you at these things, and because i knew erika wanted to chat with you too, but i wanted to hijack you and talk art and life and growing up and careering oh-so bad. so maybe sometime. we're both busy bees, but maybe sometime. and thank you for introducing me to glenn.

have you seen this?

it reminds me of the old mall... clay, jim, stephen, sean, aaron and i went in once, years after it closed, and everything was broken and moldy, and there were clothes and blankets around... it was so eerie, especially because i remembered it when it was nice and in use... and i wished so badly i had brought a camera.

those photos (linked above) are interesting, but nothing's done with the lighting or the composition to make it really snap.

I was so happy I could go to your show. I have a few friends who are art majors who I am going to require them to go see! You officially made it big time as well, the other day I said I went to an art show (to my boss and his wife), and they said "oh! the one with the mother and daughter at the brick box? I read about that in the paper." So you are now known!

I had fun at Flory's too. I have to say I was creeped out a lot...like the fact that there was a light on in the .45cent burger place, and that I might fall through the ceiling at any time, or the clothes... But I had a good time, good to hang out with you--without it being under shitty circumstances. I hope to see you again soon!

Curious though, do you know the hours of the brick box gallery..? because if I suggest people to go-I want to make sure it's open...
