Grrr Arghhh

Apparently there is some problem with my NTSC dvd. I offered it too soon. Unfortunately the files will not extract and at the moment I am way to tired to figure out what the issue is. If you've already taken the time to download these files I'm so so sorry for the inconvenience. I hope it won't put you off. :( Please abort if you're mid-download ( Read more... )

Huh. It did extract perfectly for me; I wonder what's going on? If you need data to help you figure out what's up, let me know.

I haven't a clue what's going on with it but morgandawn is having a lot of problems. She's tried 3 different download managers and once without. I've downloaded it again tonight to see myself and I had the same problem as her. I just dunno. I'm going to bed now but I'll look at it again tomorrow.

given the problems I just had trying to log into your ftp account, I am pointing my finger at your webhost (yahoo). The error messages they were sending for the ftp were bizarre.

so go rest!

I downloaded and extracted the NTSC version fine. For the record, I first tried to extract using the Mac tool you'd pointed to and it failed. I then tried using good old Stuffit Expander and it worked fine. I've mounted the disk on my hard drive and it plays fine. Haven't burned it yet, though.

Thanks P! It's a relief to hear someone else downloaded it ok. Last night before I went to bed I tried again and it dl'ed and it extracted using WinRar. Earlier in the evening when I tried that it wouldn't work. It's weird and it leaves me in an awkward position because what do I do to fix it? If it's a server problem (it's pointing to that now) do I say take a lucky dip? Arghhhh. Things never go smoothly. lol

what do I do to fix it?

I know your frustration. I've faced a similar dilemma when people have contacted me about not being able to play my vids. Because in the end there is sometimes only so much you can do.

I had no problems -except Getright making me put the password/log in information in every time I d/l'd a chunk.
no issues extracting - I just right clicked on the first zip and winRAR unzipped it all, then did the same with the big 3g RAR it made.

funny thing I did notice though is that I could not unrar it with the plain ol Windows XP un-rar ability. I HAD to use winRAR to get it all open.
System info incase you need it, would be Windows XP computer, WinRAR Crystal version used to unpack it.

what's weird is that charmax had the same problems in using winrar to open her files after I failed 3x. I just tried accessing the files using ftp and we're getting the same error message from winrar that the first file is corrupt - so perhaps a new upload?

I really don't know what to do because I re-downloaded the files before I went to bed and this time they extracted! No problems at all using WinRar. I am putting the blame on Yahoo being temperamental. For now.

OK, sometimes these servers are problematic. so let me try another download using ftp and report back in.

I extracted it with WinRar and errors came up but the ISO works perfectly fine. So that's good at least.

I don't know what to make of it because sometimes it works fine. Without errors.
